Following the 2005 version of the Justsystem’s character translating software, ATOK (for Mac), The Brand Union designed the packaging for the new version, ATOK 2006 for Mac. The series of this latest version, ATOK 2006 for Mac, was launched on 14 July 2006.

ATOK, characterised by the associative conversion function, the assumed candidate mode and the correction learning function, is very smart and useful. However, its brand personality is friendly and modest.

We needed to reflect developers' wishes for the input character conversion software, or “Get a feeling you want to convey into shape” and “Cast your feeling into words freely, unleashing your imagination”, on the package design.

In addition, the Set of the Kojien Ver. 5 and the Mac/Windows Hybrid version were added to the conventional Normal version and Electronic dictionary version. This resulted in a lineup of four products, and our design had to make it clear that this was a suite, or family, of products.

Design system development



The packaging was also developed to be consistent with other software series from Justsystem and helped express the consumer's pleasure in the experience of the product: “Look at, Pick up, Open and Install”.

In accordance with the design language of Apple Mac, we deployed four colors for the square-shaped pack. We made the outer box as simple as possible, but created exciting graphics on the inner box which contained the CD.

Achieved 240% of the sales forecast. Many purchasers have introduced the ATOK 2006 for Mac with photos on the internet (SNS/blog).
